Qi (pronounce "chee") is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan, where she has been working with Professor Uday V. Shanbhag since January 2025. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University, where she was fortunate to be advised by Professor Frank E. Curtis.
Her research focuses on designing, analyzing, and implementing algorithms for solving large-scale nonlinear optimization problems that arise in fields such as machine learning.
She received the Master of Science degree in Financial Operation Research from the University of Edinburgh in UK in 2016 and the Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of International Business and Economics in China in 2015.
