Bio: Yashaswini Murthy is a PhD candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she is a recipient of the Joan and Lalit Bahl Fellowship and the Mavis Future Faculty Fellowship. She earned her B.Tech. and M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), where she was a two-time recipient of the Institute Academic Prize. Yashaswini's research interests include reinforcement learning, applied probability, and control theory. Her work focuses on developing a theoretical foundation of average reward and robust reinforcement learning, as well Markov decision processes, with applications to queuing systems and communication networks.
