Wanping's research interest lies in designing and analyzing algorithms to solve nonlinear optimization problems related to machine learning or other real-life problems. She joined the department of Industrial and Operations Engineering as a PhD student at University of Michigan in 2022 and is expected to graduate in 2027, supervised by
Dr. Albert S. Berahas. Before that, she received her undergraduate degree in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University in 2022.
