About me
My main research interest lies in developing efficient approaches to solve complex optimization problems in the field of energy resources and systems. This particularly includes PDE-constrained optimization problems where physical phenomena are governed by partial differential equations (PDEs). I approach these challenging problems from various angles by developing and comparing different optimization concepts in terms of efficiency and applicability. In summary, my research interests and experience include the following topics:
• Optimization: LP, PDE-constrained, MILP, QP
• Machine Learning: Physics-informed deep learning for optimization
• Energy Applications: Renewable sources, Energy systems, Geothermal energy
I am currently leading a recently formed Applied Optimization Group that focuses on these three research topics.
