Bio: I am an assistant professor in the
Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh. My research interests lie in the mathematics of machine learning and data science. Previously, I was an assistant professor in the
Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University, a postdoc in the
Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Princeton University, where I worked with
Weinan E on the mathematics of artificial neural networks, and a postdoc in the
Center for Nonlinear Analysis at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by
Irene Fonseca and
Giovanni Leoni. I obtained my PhD from Durham University under the supervision of
Patrick Dondl and my bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Heidelberg.
