Math major at the University of Michigan with senior year (1970-71) at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Grad student at Cornell 1971-74, PhD in Computer Science (1975). Asst. Prof. at University of Texas, Austin 1974-75. NBER Computer Center in Cambridge, MA 1975-78, MIT CCREMS 1978-81; married Tanner in 1980; Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ 1981-2001; Sandia National Labs, Albuquerque, NM 2003-2010; AMPL Optimization since 2010. Tanner died 2021.
